The Task
Enhancing account enrichment with AI-powered deep research
When Rox launched in 2024, its founding vision was clear: create a revenue operating system that empowers enterprise sales teams to focus on execution, not manual work. While its team solidified part of this vision through the use of AI agents that automate core functions ranging from lead identification to CRM maintenance, gaps remained in how the platform surfaced external data.
At the time, Rox relied on both private data spread across its users' cloud environments and data warehouses, as well as insights ingested from the public web for account enrichment — the backbone of personalized outbound at scale. However, executing web crawling and building a performant search layer in-house proved resource-heavy, pulling engineers away from core product work.
“We quickly realized this wasn’t something we should be focusing all our efforts on internally,” said Co-Founder Shriram Sridharan. “Our time was better spent evolving our platform — not building out a search engine from scratch.”
