The cloud handles frontier reasoning, web research, and planning. The local model handles the private files. Those local steps don't incur token charges like cloud models do. Computer flags sensitive content on the Mac and asks your permission before anything goes to the cloud. You can send it, mask it, or keep it local.

Computer confirms the Q2 financials and executive notes stays local. The local model reads those on the Mac. Only competitor research goes out to the cloud for comparisons.
