The Richmond City Council is evaluating a proposal to use $550 million from a Chevron tax settlement to address pension liabilities. This plan could save the city $117 million in interest over 20 years, allowing funds to be redirected toward infrastructure and staffing improvements.1

The U.S. government is reportedly considering extending Chevron's license to operate in Venezuela. This comes after a meeting between President Trump and Chevron's CEO. The extension could provide Chevron more time beyond the April 3 deadline to wind down operations, amid broader geopolitical considerations.34
