iShares Russell 2000 ETF Price & Performance (IWM)

Small-cap stocks, tracked by the Russell 2000, have outperformed large caps following a 90-day tariff truce between the U.S. and China. The index rose 3.5% on Monday, topping the S&P 500’s gains, as easing trade tensions and declining recession fears fueled renewed risk appetite among investors.12

The iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) closed Friday at $209.88, extending a recent rally with strong buy signals from both short- and long-term moving averages. Despite being overbought on RSI, analysts see potential for further gains, though warn of increased volatility and possible short-term corrections.34

IWM has climbed 9% over the past month, with trading volume exceeding typical levels. Seasonal patterns suggest July could be favorable, as more than half of previous years saw gains. Options activity, however, shows a predominance of puts, hinting at some investor caution despite the uptrend.5
