UNFI delivered another quarter of improving financial results, with Q2 sales up nearly 5% to $8.2 billion, led by over 8% growth in the natural products business and 2% growth in conventional products.
Adjusted EBITDA grew over 13% year-over-year to $145 million, with the adjusted EBITDA margin rate reaching nearly 1.8%, the highest since Q3 FY23; adjusted EPS rose to $0.22 from $0.07 last year.
Free cash flow generation improved significantly, reaching over $30 million year-to-date and more than $150 million over the last twelve months; net leverage reduced to 3.7x, the lowest since FY23.
The company raised its full-year FY25 outlook: net sales now expected between $31.3–$31.7 billion (up 3.6% at midpoint), adjusted EBITDA raised to $555–$580 million (over 11% increase at midpoint), adjusted EPS to $0.70–$0.90, and free cash flow to at least $150 million.
Strategic initiatives include realigning the wholesale business into two product-centered divisions (conventional and natural/organic/specialty/fresh), expanding Lean Daily Management to nine distribution centers, optimizing the distribution network, and focusing on value creation for customers and suppliers to drive sustainable shareholder value.
