UPS announced a significant reconfiguration of its U.S. network, including plans to close up to 10% of its buildings, reduce vehicle and aircraft fleets, and cut labor costs, aiming for $1 billion in savings through efficiency initiatives.
The company is accelerating the reduction of Amazon-related volume, expecting a 50% decline by the second half of 2026, which will improve customer mix and revenue per piece while reducing reliance on low-margin business.
For 2025, UPS projects consolidated revenue of approximately $89 billion and an operating margin of 10.8%, with U.S. Domestic revenue expected to decline 2.3% year-over-year due to volume reductions but offset by a 6% growth in revenue per piece.
UPS is focusing on growth in higher-margin areas such as SMBs, healthcare, and B2B, with plans to increase SMB volume share to 32% in 2025 and double healthcare revenue to $20 billion by 2026.
Capital expenditures for 2025 are expected to be $3.5 billion, with $1 billion allocated for share repurchases and $5.5 billion for dividends, supported by strong liquidity and a focus on maintaining a disciplined capital base.
