# Split-view Mode

> Use Split View in Comet to open two tabs side by side in one window, with steps to start it, swap tab positions, and separate tabs back to normal view.

## What is Split View in Comet?

Split View lets you open and work with two tabs side by side in the same browser window. It’s a simple way to compare content, multitask, or keep two sites in view without switching back and forth.

## How to Open Split View

You can start Split View in several ways:

<ul>
  <li>
    **Right-click** an inactive tab → *New Split View With Current Tab*

    <ul>
      <li>
        or **Option + Click** to open quickly
      </li>
    </ul>
  </li>

  <li>
    Open the **Menu** (top right) → *Add Split View* → select a website
  </li>
</ul>

## How to Swap Tabs in Split View

In Split View mode, you can switch the position of the two tabs using:

    The **Split View icon** (one filled square + one empty square) in the top right
  </li>

  <li>
    **Right-click** on the double-tab bar → *Arrange Split View* → *Switch Tab Positions*
  </li>
</ul>

## How to Exit Split View

To separate the tabs back into normal view:

  <li>
    Click the **X** next to one of the tabs
  </li>

  <li>
    **Right-click** on the double-tab bar → *Arrange Split View* → *Separate Tabs*
  </li>

  <li>
    Use the **Split View icon** in the top right → *Separate Tabs*
  </li>
</ul>
