Perplexity Associate Product Manager Program

Our flagship program for developing exceptional talent into tomorrow’s AI product leaders.

Our Associate Product Manager (APM) program develops future AI product leaders. You’ll accelerate the growth of industry-leading AI products, launch innovative experiences that surprise and delight our users, and help uncover new opportunities in a rapidly evolving field. You’ll work closely with our cofounders and collaborate with skilled teams in engineering, research, design, data, and business to shape the future of Perplexity and AI.

Employment

APMs join Perplexity as full-time employees, building their product careers from day one.

Compensation

$210,000 annual base salary plus equity, with increases as you move to post-APM roles with greater responsibility.

Timeline

Apply now through November 14, 2025. Successful candidates will start on a mutually-agreed upon date between January and August 2026.

In-office at our downtown San Francisco headquarters.

Learning by doing
Our program is designed to maximize depth of experience. Rather than focusing on seminars or retreats, we immerse you directly in product development as it happens: raw, messy, and magical. You’ll learn by building and contributing, not by watching from the sidelines.
Executive mentorship
Each APM receives direct mentorship from a Perplexity executive at the cofounder or VP level. You’ll be assigned a portfolio they care deeply about, collaborate with product teams, and get 1:1 guidance in our fast-paced environment. Working alongside our leaders, you’ll learn how we navigate rapid market changes, make big bets, and ship better and faster than much larger teams.
Opportunities abound
Through hands-on work, you’ll gain broad product experience and quickly take on impact across the company. Most APMs stay under executive mentorship for at least six months, with paths to continue as a product manager, move into other roles, or chart your own course. Your growth at Perplexity is defined by your own talents and drive.

Selection process

Our selection process includes reviewing applications on a rolling basis and inviting selected candidates to one or more exploratory conversations. If there’s a strong match, you’ll be invited for an onsite interview in San Francisco, where you’ll meet members of our product development teams and one of our cofounders. We’ll assess your technical fluency, product instincts, and growth potential throughout this process.
