PERPLEXITY REFER A FRIEND PROGRAM

Welcome to the Perplexity Refer a Friend Program (the “Program”). These Terms and Conditions govern the Program. By participating in the Program, you acknowledge that you have read and accept these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety, you may not participate in the Program.
How to Join
The Program is open to U.S. residents age 18 and older who are currently enrolled at a college or university and have a verified .edu email. Employees of Perplexity and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
To join the Program, create a Perplexity account using a .edu email address. Members of the Program are referred to as “Members” and the friends a Member refers through the Program are referred to as “Referrals.”
Once you join the Program, you will be provided a referral code that is unique to you. You will use this referral code to refer your friends to Perplexity.
Program Details
The Program is offered by Perplexity AI, Inc. We are referred to in these Terms and Conditions as Perplexity, we, our, or us.
This Program starts at 05:00:01 am (PT) on September 3, 2024, and ends at 11:59:59 pm (PT) on September 30, 2024, (“Program Period”). The Program Period may be extended by Perplexity by email notification.
How to Earn Rewards
To earn a Reward, (a) you must have a Program Account, (ii) you must share your unique referral code with an eligible Referral during the Program Period, (iii) the Referral must register for Perplexity using your valid referral code and sign up for the Perplexity service during the Program Period, and (iv) you must otherwise be in compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
To be eligible as a Referral, each Referral must be a U.S. resident age 18 and older who is currently enrolled at a college or university and have a verified .edu email. Existing customers of Perplexity are not eligible as Referrals.
You may only send the referral code to the Referral via email or social media and otherwise in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. You may not send the invitation link by text message.
Perplexity will not send any referral codes on your behalf.
You may not invite yourself or use your own referral code to join the Program or create more than one account for yourself.
Your referral code will expire at the earlier of the end of the Program Period or one year from when the link is provided to you by Perplexity.
Each Referral must be personally known to you. You may not send invitation links in a manner that Perplexity (in its sole discretion) believes constitutes spam or unsolicited communications or that otherwise violates these Terms and Conditions or applicable law. You represent and warrant to us that you have obtained that recipient’s express consent to send them electronic communication(s) containing your invitation link.
Referrals meeting all of the criteria above will be considered a “Qualified Referral.”
Rewards
We will award to you the rewards specified below (each a “Reward”) for each of the Referral Milestones achieved below based on Qualified Referrals:

The redemption of the Uber Eats Gift Card is subject to Uber Eats’ terms and conditions. Restrictions apply.
The redemption of the Amazon Gift Card is subject to Amazon’s terms and conditions. Restrictions apply.
The redemption of the Airbnb Gift Card is subject to AirBnB’s terms and conditions. Restrictions apply.
The trip to Perplexity HQ is for 3 days, 2 nights. Trip includes round-trip coach air transportation for one person from a major U.S. airport nearest to the Member’s residence in the U.S. and hotel accommodations for one person. Ground transportation between airport and hotel accommodations will be provided by Perplexity; all other ground transportation not included. Meals, beverages, concessions, luggage fees, incidental expenses, taxes, and all other expenses not specifically mentioned are not included and are the sole responsibility of Member. Member and travel companion of Member must execute a Publicity/Liability Release prior to ticketing and must possess required travel documents (including without limitation valid Real I.D.) prior to departure. Selection of air carrier and hotel accommodations at Perplexity’s discretion. Black-out dates and other restrictions apply. Once the travel schedule has been arranged, it cannot be altered and failure of Member to follow such schedule shall not obligate Perplexity in any way to provide Member with alternate arrangements.
As noted above, certain of the highest value Rewards are available only while supplies last. First come, first served. We will post an update to these Terms and Conditions and the Program website when these Rewards are no longer available.
Please allow at least 30 days for delivery of each Reward.
Perplexity reserves the right to substitute each Reward for an item of equal or greater value. All expenses, accessories or equipment not specified in the Reward description are the responsibility of the Member receiving such Reward. All taxes on Rewards are the sole responsibility of the Member receiving the Reward.
Rewards have no monetary value and may not be redeemed for cash. Rewards are not transferable.
Upon termination of the Program or any portion thereof for any reason, or upon cancellation of your Account for any reason, any unredeemed Rewards are forfeited.
General Rules and Restrictions
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account sign-in credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur through the use of them. You agree to promptly notify Perplexity if you believe the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials has been compromised or if you suspect unauthorized use of your Account.
Bulk email distribution of referral codes to persons you do not know, sharing referral codes on websites or on social media with recipients you do not know, or any other sharing or promotion of your referral code in a manner that (in Perplexity’s sole and absolute discretion) may constitute or appear to constitute unsolicited commercial communications or “spam” is prohibited.
We may prohibit you from participating in the Program or may refuse to provide you with a Reward if, in our sole and absolute discretion, we suspect or determine that you have not participated in the Program in good faith, have breached these Terms and Conditions, have violated applicable law, or that your use presents potential liability or harm to Perplexity, its affiliates, service providers or any of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents.
Prohibited Conduct
All of the following conduct is prohibited. Perplexity may disallow your participation in the Program and refuse to provide you with any Reward if it suspects or determines (in its sole and absolute discretion) you have done or attempted to do any of the following:
Creating multiple, duplicate, or fake Accounts;
Sending referral codes to persons that you do not personally know, or otherwise engaging in conduct that constitutes spam or unsolicited communications;
Transmitting any unsolicited marketing, advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (i.e. “spamming”);
Impersonating or misrepresenting any person’s identity;
Using any automated system, script, or macro to participate in the Program or interfering with or disrupting any systems used to conduct the Program;
Transmitting any file that contains viruses, worms, Trojan horses, adware, malware, or any other contaminating or destructive features;
Engaging in any conduct that violates applicable laws; or
Doing anything that harms or damages the reputation or goodwill of Perplexity.
Privacy
Personal information you provide about yourself will be used to administer the Program and to provide you with any Rewards you earn. The personal information you provide may also be shared with service providers who help Perplexity operate the Program. Your personal information will otherwise be used and processed in accordance with Perplexity’s privacy policy at https://www.perplexity.ai/hub/legal/privacy-policy.
Limitations of Liability; Disclaimers
Perplexity shall have no liability for any use of the Program that does not comply with these Terms and Conditions. If this Program is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Perplexity, including but not limited to technical disruptions or failures, unauthorized intervention, denial of service attack, infection by computer virus, bugs, power failure, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, terrorism, war, fraud, or any other causes beyond the control of Perplexity, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, or proper conduct of the Program, Perplexity will in no event be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive or exemplary damages, including (but not limited to) damages for loss of profits, use, data, goodwill or other tangible or intangible losses.
You understand and agree that your use of the Program is at your sole risk, and the Program and its related systems are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Perplexity expressly disclaims all warranties, conditions, and terms (collectively, “Warranties”) of any kind, whether express or implied by statute, common law or custom, including (but not limited to) warranties as to Rewards, products or services offered through the Program or implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
THE LAWS OF CERTAIN JURISDICTIONS, INCLUDING THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES AS SET FORTH IN THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
If you have received a Referral Code from a website, on social media from a person you do not know, via email from a person you do not know, or in any other manner from a person you do not know, please be aware that the Referral Code may be invalid and may not work.
Governing Law; Enforcement
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute arising out of or related to the Program or these Terms and Conditions, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with California Law.
If we in our sole discretion suspect or determine that any violation of these Terms and Conditions has occurred, we may take any action we deem appropriate, including (but not limited to) terminating or disabling your referral codes, closing your account, closing accounts belonging to your Referrals or to third parties, terminating Rewards, or suspending or terminating the Program in whole or in part.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver by us must be in writing and specifically state that it is a waiver of these Terms and Conditions.
Changes to the Program or These Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to change or terminate the Program (or any part of it, including the Rewards or the Referral Milestones necessary to qualify for a Reward) at any time with or without notice.
We may change these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting the revised Terms and Conditions to our Program website at www.perplexity.ai/backtoschool.
Following any change to these Terms and Conditions, your continued use of the Program constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
