Enterprise data will never be used to train or fine-tune our AI models.

Our agreements with third-party AI providers, like OpenAI and Anthropic, ensure that Perplexity data is not used for model training. Your data remains private, always.

Understanding the seven-day file retention policy

This policy applies specifically to uploaded files (photos, PDFs, etc). Files are automatically deleted after seven days.

Note: This policy does not mean the Thread containing those files will be deleted. We do not delete data unless specifically requested.

Data that is retained includes:

  • Threads at the individual level

  • Organization-level data

  • User data on Perplexity (we do not use this data to train or fine-tune models)
